David Hogg, personal trainer to the Utley’s, set up a community interest company called ‘A Vision of Britain’. The aim for the company, a not for profit organisation, is to organise activities that benefit the community and in particular, encourage people (in this case, children) to achieve improved physical and mental wellbeing.
This particular programme, ‘The Bodycare Programme’, is to deliver physical activities and a healthy eating programme to primary schools in the local area and in particular, academy schools.
The programme encourages children to partake in physical activity in and outside of school hours. The more exercise performed, children would be rewarded with an award at the end of the programme to mark their achievement.
The £10,000 donation was put towards instructor training, equipment, management fees, designing and printing manuals, plus instructor fees.
The programme was delivered to over 500 children across Harlow, Essex and made a positive change to attitudes on both areas approached.
