Mission Smile, formerly known as Operation Smile India, is a charity offering free surgical procedures for children and young adults with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities in India.
People suffering with cleft lip can struggle with eating, drinking and even breathing.
Following a personal donation from trustee, Raja Balasuriya, The Utley Foundation chose to match the donation and grant £10,000 to help Mission Smile.
To build long-term sufficiency in resource poor environments, Mission Smile train doctors and local medical professionals, in partner countries so they're empowered to treat their local communities. They also donate medical equipment and supplies and provide year-round medical treatments.
The surgery gives sufferers a chance to live, smile and enjoy the gift of new life.
