Sarah has been Managing Director of the Utley Foundation since 2021.

She first encountered the trustees in 2016 when she was CEO of a music and dementia charity applying for a grant. She was struck immediately by the clear vision trustees had for making music an integral part of dementia care, and how they perceived grantees as partners in delivering that vision.

Sarah is excited by the trustees’ campaigning philanthropy approach. It appeals to her background in community organising, national politics and policy development. It was easy to say yes when the trustees asked her to become MD.

Sarah lives near Glasgow with her husband and two children.
