How we help

Medic Assist International

Medic Assist International, a UK registered charity. Helping abroad is one of the key areas The Utley Foundation chose to focus on.

The Utley Foundation is assisting to build a medical centre in Southern Sudan.

The aim of this grant and the facility is to reduce the maternal and infant mortality by 50% over the next 10 years. The services that the facility will provide will be available to all without discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity, gender, social class, sexual orientation or faith.

The initial phase of the build is the primary health care clinic which will provide areas for consultation and treatments, a small delivery facility, as well as a dispensary and laboratory. The building will be provided with power and water by the means of installing solar panels and a borehole.

The following phases will be to provide equipment, followed by clinic staff.

The project is estimated to cost approximately $150,000 of which the Foundation will donate £40,000 towards the build and be complete in 2017.

It has been agreed that the Clinic can in some way, be named after the Foundation e.g. Utley Clinic.
